Hermann Park Engagement Session

Meet Sarah and David!! You may recognize these two from their proposal I photographed not too long ago! We did a mini engagement session after their proposal and now we got to do their formal engagement session! I met Sarah online in a photograph education group we’re both in! Sarah is a fellow wedding photographer in Houston and we clicked instantly!! It’s a huge honor to photograph other wedding photographers!

The short version of their story, is that Sarah and David met on a dating app! She had already been pursuing David and her roommates kept nagging her to make a profile. They knew David was perfect for Sarah and they didn’t want him to get “snatched up!” Literally 3 minutes after she made her profile, David swiped on her! Never in a million years did Sarah think she would meet the love of her life in the middle of a pandemic.

Usually I love to share my couples proposal story but this time, I was actually there for it! David had a day off from work and wanted to spend the day with Sarah. He took her to House of Pies while unbeknownst to Sarah, her parents were at Memorial Park setting up the sweetest picnic spot for them. David had photos from all throughout their relationship plus a note someone had left on their windshield during their first date! I hid behind some concrete pillars and photographed their sweet proposal.

Sarah exudes joy! It radiates from her and you just can’t help but feel so happy when you’re around her! She had the biggest smile on her face the entire time and I just loved it! I really love being a part of this season of our couples lives. It is such a sweet and special time for them!

We first met them at the gorgeous McGovern Centennial Gardens and then went all around Hermann Park grabbing as many locations as we could before the sunset! I think this was a record number of locations for one session! Hah! I absolutely love McGovern Centennial Gardens. This spot (that I call “the desert”) has the dreamiest light! When the sun hits the light colored dirt pathway, it reflects the prettiest light back onto their skin. That is a photographers dream!
