Hi there! I'm Joanna Krueger and my husband Michael and I are a wedding photography team in Houston, TX. We hope you enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a peek into our lives!
This summer we took the biggest trip we’ve ever taken together as a married couple. Michael’s brother, his wife and their two kids live in Singapore on a work assignment so we went to go visit them! We planned a two and a half week trip to Singapore with a side trip to Thailand and a long layover in Tokyo. I’ve been to Asia before but this was Michael’s first time to the other side of the world. If you’ve never been, let me just tell you, it’s AMAZING. It’s so different and is probably not what you’re envisioning when you think of “Asia”. I’ve had some people tell me they’re afraid to travel to Asia and I instantly tell them, “don’t be afraid!!” It’s not scary. Most of the people we ran into spoke English or some broken English so we were able to communicate.
The first half of our trip is in Singapore. This was a great year to visit Singapore as they’re celebrating 50 years of being an independent country. Isn’t that hard to believe?? 50 years! There were flags hanging on the sides of buildings and Chinatown had these beautiful lanterns zig-zagging all down the streets. I loved it!
We have had a really nice travel tripod but it has gone missing so we bought this $10 clunker from Amazon. This is what happens when you marry a photographer! #swoon
Love these “SG 50” lanterns!
This is in Little India. LOVE these colors!!
This is inside the temple. They were handing out food and flowers for offerings.
One of the things I really wanted to do in Little India was to get a henna. We found a place in our travel book and they did an amazing job! My lady FREE HANDED this design in about 2 minutes. It was so impressive! The henna is like a paste that falls off when it dries leaving behind the orange-y red stain.
This is Michael’s favorite picture from our trip! If you’re curious to know how we got the water so smooth, we set the camera on the tripod and did a 1 second exposure.
We went out at night to view the city lights and the Marina Bay Hotel.
We got there at the perfect time. Just a few minutes after we got there they started a light show with music. So awesome!
I had to go back and get a second henna from this lady. Seriously. She is amazing!!
These are the high rise condos where Matt (Michael’s brother) and Julie live. They live in the tallest building in the middle. Oh. And there’s a $2M garden on the roof that is not accessible to the residents. It’s just for decoration.
This is where we ate dinner our last night in Singapore.
