My Parents – A Mother’s Day Photo Session

For Mother’s Day this year I wanted to do something extra special for my mom.  For the first time, I took my parents out for their very own photo session!  I loved seeing my mom smile so much and feel so special! She said the only time they ever have their photo taken is on cruises so this was much deserved! My mom said she felt like she was having their engagement pictures taken.  How cute is that?!

We went out in our front yard under our neighbor’s amazing magnolia tree for these gorgeous photos. It’s hard to believe I was standing in our driveway taking these! And just wait for the second location.  We were right next to a gas station!! Michael was literally moving some trash out of the way minutes before taking the last few portraits.  Part of being a photographer is being able to find good portrait locations and good light.  One thing we always tell our clients, is as long as we have great light, we can make any location look great!

My parents are the most self-less people I know.  They do so much for me and my sister and have been so supportive our whole lives.  They went to all of our football games (even the rainy ones!), every band concert (even the ones six hours away), and never missed an opportunity to show their support for us.  They never once doubted my ability to pursue my dream and become a wedding photographer.  They have been my cheerleaders the whole way!  They deserve their moment in the spotlight for being the amazing people that they are! After 38 years of marriage, they’re still in love as ever!
