Hermann Park Engagement Session

They were set up by his sister-in-law, Whitney, and Whitney’s sister-in-law, Brittney. They began chatting and getting to know each other on Facebook, and it wasn’t long before Austin drove all the way from Arkansas to Nacogdoches to meet her and take her on their first date (in Texas). After brunch at a diner in town, they hit it off at the zoo, and the rest, is history! Lauren had to wait until the following semester to graduate, and at the time, that was so frustrating for her! But in hindsight, that’s exactly what allowed her to meet Austin! God works in mysterious ways, but He makes all things beautiful in His time!

Lauren and Austin knew they wanted to get married. Austin even told her she would have a ring before April! Back in March, they went to Petit Jean State Park where they had their first date (in Arkansas). They were down by the waterfalls, and she kept thinking he was going to propose…but nope! (Austin likes to mess with her.) So they headed back to her place for dinner and went out for ice cream. On their way back to her apartment, Austin drove past her driveway and took her to Beaverfork Lake instead. They walked out onto a dock where he got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him. He had a golden egg with the ring inside. It was such a perfect moment!

Lauren and Austin both live in Arkansas and were in town for a few days to take care of some wedding planning. We’re so thankful we were able to meet up with them! Michael and I love getting to meet our couples before the wedding day. It helps us get to know each other and get them comfortable in front of our cameras. That way, we feel more like friends on the wedding day instead of the hired photographers! We can’t wait for Lauren and Austin’s wedding day! They’re getting married at the beautiful Balmorhea Events this December, and we just know it’s going to be amazing! Enjoy these favorites from their engagement session!
