A Garten Verein Wedding | Galveston, TX

Casey and Stephen are married!! They had a small, intimate ceremony at a 150 year old church with just their immediate families and then celebrated with all their guests at their reception, another 100 year old venue in Galveston! 

Watching Casey walk down the aisle was the sweetest. She was beaming from ear to ear and was trying so hard to hold back the tears. It was such a beautiful and powerful moment for them! 

Galveston is such a special place to Casey and Stephen. Not only did they get engaged here, but they have family history here as well! They showcased their love of Galveston in so many creative ways on their wedding day. Stephen wore sailboat socks to tie in their sailboat engagement, we took portraits on the seawall, their guest signed their names and well wishes on a wooden cutout of Galveston island, and they included their family history with their reception venue!

During the reception, we learned that their German ancestors come in through Galveston. Their reception venue, Garten Verein, was built in 1880 as a garden and social club for Germans so it was the perfect place for their reception! And to make things even more special, Casey wore a watch that her great grandfather gave her great grandmother on their 25th wedding anniversary in Amsterdam.
