I was elated when the day came for our day trip to Vienna.  It’s just one of those places everybody wants to see.  The history is so rich and the architecture is just stunning that it’s hard to pass up.  We were originally staying in Linz and Vienna is only an hour and a half away by train so it just made sense!  I tell you what, though, if you want to visit Vienna…give yourself more than a day.  It was a crazy whirlwind trip!! There’s just SO much to see! One of these days we’re going to go back and really take our time exploring and seeing more of the city.

Since Michael and I are both music people, we had to see the Vienna Opera House.  We thought we could just walk in and look around but you have to buy tickets.  Well, no one spoke English very well so they couldn’t tell us where exactly to buy tickets.  We walked around a little bit asking people but no one knew.  We stumbled on the Opera House museum and decided to go have a look.  Thankfully, the lady there spoke English and told us we buy our tickets there.  At the museum.  Who knew??  She also said that we had to book a tour to see it and there was only ONE English tour left that day.  I’m telling you.  Are we lucky or what?

The Opera House is amazing.  I could just stay in there for hours photographing.  I wish the tour didn’t move people along so fast because I always wanted to lag behind.  I’ve never seen a place like this before!
