My New Office – Personal

Now that I’m officially a full time wedding photographer, my workspace has changed! Last summer, Michael and I created our own built in bookcases (thanks to IKEA and Pinterest!) and totally changed the look of this space. It’s technically supposed to be the formal dining room of our house but we felt a greater need to have a designated office space so when the time came for me to go full time, I’d have a place to work from home.

I love this room.  It’s easily one of my favorite parts of our house.  Partly because it’s my very own special space but also because we put in so much love to make this space the way that it is.  I can’t even tell you the number of times I’ve redecorated these shelves.  And they’ll probably be different two months from now.   This room has already seen two rugs and two desks.  But that’s me. I love to decorate but I can be so indecisive!

Another reason I love this space is because of what’s in it.  These shelves have basically turned into a museum of vintage cameras that once belonged to my Granddad and my Great-Grandmother. Every single time I walk in this room, I think about them.  And now this is where I’ll be working! Full time and not just after school hours or at 11pm at night.  I’ll actually get to look at my flowers in the day time. And the best news?? It’s right off the kitchen and 10 steps away from the bathroom. And coming from someone who spent 5 years teaching a half a mile away from the nearest restroom…this is luxurious!! This is my life now.  And it’s so wonderful!
