Meet Chelcy and Ace!! Michael and I have known these two for years! Michael and Ace pledged Phi Mu Alpha together at the University of Houston and I met Chelcy through the Spirit of Houston marching band back in 2007! And in fact, that’s where Chelcy and Ace met each other as well! But even though they knew each other, they never really hung out or had anything as far as a relationship. Fast forward ten years. Chelcy came to the last home football game of the season and joined the Spirit of Houston alumni tailgate, where she and and Ace reconnected. Chelcy was greeting all her friends and when she came to Ace, they hugged each other but coming out of the hug, he knocked her coffee out of her hands… and all over her! Ace felt awful! He apologized profusely and immediately got her paper towels and a fresh cup of coffee. Chelcy on the other hand, got a good laugh out of it! The next day, they met up for ice cream and stayed, talking with each other for four and a half hours!

On their one year anniversary, Ace had the whole day planned. The first thing on the list? Coffee! They went to a new Starbucks and Chelcy got excited when she saw her friend Emily was also there at the same time! (Chelcy had no clue what was coming). They ordered their coffee and she sat down talking with  Emily. Ace comes up behind her and asks if this was the size coffee she wanted. Chelcy replies, “Yes, I ordered a grande.” She continues her conversation with Emily. Then Ace asks her, “Is this the ring you wanted??” And when she turned around this time, he was on one knee with a ring in his hand. Chelcy was shocked! And of course, she said yes! It was the perfect place for them to start the next chapter of their love story since it all began over coffee!

Michael and I just had a blast with these two. I’m pretty sure we laughed the entire session!! We met up with them at the University of Houston Moores School of Music which is where they first met years ago. In their words, it was the only place they could take their photos! This session was really fun for me since Michael and I also went to school here! I’ve been to this building countless times but I never viewed it from a photographers perspective before! Chelcy and Ace, we just love you two! Enjoy these few favorites from your session!!
