Hi there! I'm Joanna Krueger and my husband Michael and I are a wedding photography team in Houston, TX. We hope you enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a peek into our lives!
I am SO excited to be blogging this wedding! Meet Kelcey and Caleb. Kelcey is Michael’s cousin and when she asked us to photograph her wedding, we were THRILLED! We love Caleb and the two of them make such an amazing couple!
Their wedding day was on a day that was forecasted to have 100% chance of rain. Not every brides dream. But Kelcey has SUCH an incredibly positive attitude that it didn’t even seem to phase her. The day started with rain and it didn’t seem to stop until 30 minutes before the ceremony. How perfect is that?! But what’s even better is that the sun made it’s first appearance literally 5 minutes before she walked down the aisle. It was such a beautiful moment. When the back doors of the 100 year old dance hall opened, Kelcey was glowing with radiant sunlight behind her. Not to mention that it was approaching golden hour so the light was ah-mazing! I don’t know what it is about the first sunlight after a storm but it is such a beautiful event.
I love photographing anything that involves my family but when it’s a wedding, it’s so special to me. Being a part of someones best day ever is such a privilege but when that person is family, it’s just so much more special. The whole day was spent around family and I love that! The ceremony was officiated by my father in law (Kelcey’s uncle) who also officiated our wedding! The ceremony was so beautiful and just watching Kelcey and Caleb standing at the alter saying their vows definitely made me tear up just a tad.. ok maybe a little more than a tad.
Their reception was also held in the 100 year old dance hall. There were christmas lights strung from the ceiling and mason jars for caring beverages. I love that Kelcey chose dried flowers for her flowers. I had never even heard of this before but I love it! It was a perfect touch to her country theme and plus she can keep them forever and they will always look as they did on her wedding day. Not every bride can say that about her wedding bouquet. (She found them on etsy if you’re curious!)
