Downtown Houston Wedding Reception

You may recognize these two from our blog! We photographed Part 1 of Laura and Marshall’s wedding back in May and on Saturday, we got to photograph their beautiful reception! As you all know, Covid has done a number on weddings this year and therefore, Laura and Marshall had to make the difficult decision to postpone their reception to September and downsize their guest list to friends only. I can’t even begin to imagine how hard of a decision that was for them!

The last time we photographed these two was back in May and it was so fun getting to see them and photograph them again! They met us in the ballroom before their guests arrived for a few portraits. I am obsessed with these photos! Now I want to take portraits of all our couples alone in their reception room! Hah! Before we left, we wanted to give them an extra, special nighttime portrait under the chandeliers. Michael got the Marriott to turn off the lights in the hallway and you guys…I’m obsessed! Just wait until you see this portrait at the end of the post!

It’s clear that Laura and Marshall are incredibly loved and deeply treasure their friendships. During Marshall’s toast, he talked about how they haven’t seen most of their friends since February and that he and Laura wanted to do something really special to celebrate their marriage with them. In his words, this reception was the coolest thing they’ve done since February!

We love you Laura and Marshall! I can’t tell you how wonderful it’s been to work with you. We hope you enjoy these few favorites from your wedding reception! And if you guys plan a Part 3 wedding celebration…we’re so there!!
