Behind the Scenes 2018
This is not the most glamorous post. You won’t find any pretty ring shots, gorgeous florals, or flowy bridesmaid dresses in this post. Some photos aren’t even in focus. You definitely won’t find any flattering poses in this post. In fact…you’ll find the most un-flattering poses in this post! (You have been warned!) Our Behind the Scenes blog post has become one of our favorites to do at the end of each year and we love sharing our life behind the camera! We have collected some gems this year. Sometimes, when I’m culling through photos after a wedding, I’ll just start busting out laughing and Michael will come in the office to see what’s going on. Then we’re both laughing! In fact, we were both laughing to the point of tears writing captions for these photos!
This year has brought us so many amazing couples! We have loved getting to document this season of their lives and are so honored to photograph their wedding days. We have photographed friends from college, friends from church, and friends we met for the first time when we sat down at Starbucks for a client meeting and talked about their wedding day vision. I say it all the time that our clients turn into real friends. That’s one of the most important things to me and how we run our business. The time we spend with our couples is invaluable and we are so grateful to each and every one of them for giving us the privilege of photographing their wedding. We wouldn’t trade it for anything! We hope you enjoy these lovely behind the scenes photos of our 2018 wedding season!
This was a rare moment we almost had the entire Water Wall to ourselves. That’s also me straddling mud to make sure I’m perfectly centered and secretly hoping those guys move soon.
These guys decided to hang out there for a long time so I just moved closer.

But in all seriousness, Michael is the best second shooter and assistant I could ask for!
He takes great care of your dresses when he hangs them for me and is a great model for light tests!
Not to mention he makes friends wherever he goes!
And speaking of Michael…he’s great at grabbing the equipment we need for the perfect lighting!
He’ll do whatever it takes to get the perfect shot! (As if he wasn’t tall enough!)
Then there was that time Barrett had waited his whole life to have this first look with…..Michael!! (P.s. I’m so glad we did this because it let me find different angles to block out that van!)
